  7. John Lash (www.metahistory.org & www.gaiaspora.org) - Meeting John Lash in the early 70’s and studying with him in Santa Fe, New Mexico throughout the 80’s, I had the opportunity to learn and explore from his deep and comprehensive body of knowledge. In 2002, the Marion Institute sponsored John’s website metahistory.org. This multi-disciplinary, imaginative site delivers! John offers, ”The best way to assess a belief is by looking at the behavior it produces…we behave as we believe.” Published in 2006, John’s book, Not In His Image, aims to “recover Pagan wisdom and restore the Sophianic vision of the Mysteries and in correlating these teachings with Gaia theory and deep ecology, add a spiritual dimension” (ecognosis). At the heart of this remarkable book is Sophia and her unique wisdom as the indwelling intelligence of the earth. This work has liberated and changed my life. “Loving Gaia is the highest calling of humanity”. The site gaiaspora.org follows John's current work (with others)and the Gaian Navigation Experiment.”
